
Just added to #VisitBlackHistory Cultural & Natural Resources Directory, Arna Bontemps Museum and Cultural Arts Center.
The Museum is described as the “restored childhood home of Arna Bontemps-poet, author, anthologist, and librarian – who was considered the leading authority of the Harlem Renaissance.” Arna was born October 13, 1902 in Alexandria, Louisiana.
His childhood home was “rescued, relocated, restored, and established as the first African American Museum in Louisiana.” It opened in August of 1992.
